Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Select Board at its meeting Tuesday night unanimously appointed Brian Ziniti as a Hopkinton Police Department officer and focused on the department’s goals.

The Parks & Recreation Commission approved a sign at EMC Park to alert visitors to the dangers of eating near playground equipment for people who have food allergies and discussed a planned skateboard event for Nov. 12 at the middle school basketball courts.

This week’s Police Log includes reports of sexual harassment, suspicious behavior at EMC Park and a resident being “booed” for Halloween.

The Hopkinton Women’s Club will host a presentation by the Hopkinton Sustainable Green Committee on Monday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hopkinton Public Library. Guest speaker Linda Chuss will talk about the local impacts of climate change and measures residents can take to be part of the solution.

Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7) and Community Preservation Committee (7).
