Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Forecasters are predicting heavy rains and strong winds from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. The rain is likely to cause flooding issues, while the wind could lead to trees/branches falling on streets and hitting power lines.

The Planning Board at its meeting Monday night reviewed a draft plan that would comply with the regulations of the MBTA Communities Act and amend the town’s zoning bylaws.

During his mid-year review, Health Director Shaun McAuliffe reported work on his three goals — concerning strategic planning, record digitization and a communication plan for PFAS in private wells — are “in progress.” The update took place during Monday’s Board of Health meeting.

This week’s Move In Style Athlete Spotlight shines on boys basketball senior Jack Ianelli, who led the Hillers in recent close games vs. Milford and Medfield.

After advancing to the state championship game a season ago and graduating a dozen seniors from that talented team, the Hopkinton High School boys ice hockey team is right back to its winning ways with a new cast of characters in the spotlight.

The Hopkinton Trails Club will host a group walk at the Whitehall Conservation Area this Sunday at 1 p.m. This will be a pretty, easy walking trail through the woods to a lookout point on Lake Whitehall.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Appeals (7) and Marathon Committee (7).
