by | Feb 8, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Plans to drill a test well for the Elmwood School replacement project were derailed when weather impacted creation of a temporary road to the site.

For the second consecutive year, Hopkinton High School sophomore May Chen was named winner of the school’s annual poetry contest. Her poem will be published in the award-winning school magazine, Marginal.

Leading off Independent Thoughts, resident Peter LaGoy recently reached out to town officials to express his dismay with the removal of the flashing pedestrian crossing beacon at the Main Street crosswalk between Hopkinton Public Library and Bill’s Pizzeria due to the Main Street Corridor Project.

This week’s Police Log includes four arrests along with reports of a breaking and entering, a South Street employee assaulting a fellow employee, and a gas stove fire.

The third annual HCA Soupah Bowl fundraiser will be held this Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the HCA Ceramics Studio.

Town meetings tonight include the Select Board-Loudermill hearing in executive session (5) and Cemetery Commission (6).
