Driver under arrest for striking, seriously injuring individual on Hayden Rowe

by | Apr 5, 2024 | Featured: News, News, Police & Fire

Hopkinton Police Chief Joseph Bennett confirmed early Friday morning that an individual was being booked for striking a person with their car Thursday night on Hayden Rowe Street.

“I wanted to share with you one under arrest,” Bennett wrote in an email at 12:40 a.m., adding that the person was in the process of being booked. “No word on bail at this time.”

Bennett stated that the suspect was to be arraigned in Framingham District Court Friday morning.

According to a news report late Thursday night, a person suffered “serious, possibly life-threatening injuries” after being struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Cornell’s Irish Pub on Hayden Rowe Street.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash at about 6:25 p.m. at the request of the Hopkinton Police Department to assist with the investigation. A portion of Hayden Rowe Street was blocked off for several hours Thursday night.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, but information on their condition was not immediately released. It was unclear if the driver remained on the scene of the accident.

The State Police’s accident reconstruction team, the crime scene services team, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

The Independent reached out to the State Police’s media relations department as well as the Middlesex County District Attorney’s press office in an attempt to gather more details.

This story will be updated as new information becomes available.
