by | Apr 6, 2024 | News

Town Manager Norman Khumalo announced at Tuesday’s Select Board meeting that Hopkinton has engaged Community Paradigm Associates to work with the Select Board in the search for a new town manager. As part of this process, the consulting firm developed a community survey seeking feedback on what residents desire in Khumalo’s successor.

Khumalo is leaving his role after 15 years for a private sector position later this month. He explained that he will be taking some vacation time before his official end date.

Assistant Town Manager Elaine Lazarus will serve as the Interim Town Manager until Khumalo’s successor is chosen.

The survey can be accessed via this link. It will remain open until April 16. Paper surveys are available at Hopkinton Public Library at13 Main Street, where there will be a collection box for any paper surveys submitted by the deadline.

The survey is seeking community feedback on the characteristics ressidents would like to see in a new town manager as well as the prioritizing the areas where the town manager will set future goals. They include aspects such as communication skills; previous government experience; financial management knowledge; a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives; and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and residents.
