Work on Fruit Street bridges will force temporary closures Tuesday/Wednesday

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced that the two Fruit Street bridges will be closed at different times this week.

The bridge over the MBTA tracks and the Sudbury River will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday night through 5 a.m. Wednesday for final paving.

The bridge over Interstate 495 will be closed Wednesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for electrical relocation work.

Traffic will be detoured for both bridge closures. Signage and message boards will be posted.

Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly.
