Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, May 22

by | May 22, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Joe Clark and Brian Herr joined the Select Board Tuesday night after winning their seats in the previous day’s election. In an unprecedented move, the board elected Herr, a previous member of the board for 12 years, to be the chair after receiving strong public feedback from residents calling for a change in the board’s direction.

This week’s Move In Style Athlete Spotlight shines on softball player Alex Riesenberger, who has thrown no-hitters this month and is “resilient, flexible and a phenomenal teammate,” according to her coach.

The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project announced that personnel will be in Hopkinton to spray for mosquitoes on June 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 25 and 26.

Town meetings tonight include the Adaptive Playground Meeting (6), Board of Appeals (7) and Zoning Advisory Committee (7).
