Main Street Corridor Project update: Conduit installation will impact Main Street, closing entrance driveway at Town Hall

by | Sep 20, 2024 | News

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday noted that conduit installation will begin on Main Street during the upcoming week, which will necessitate closing the entrance driveway to Town Hall during that time.

Dagle Electrical Construction Corporation will be performing the work at the following locations as noted:

  • 5 East Main Street on Monday;
  • 14 Main Street on Tuesday;
  • 18 Main Street (Town Hall) on Wednesday and Thursday;
  • 35 Main Street on Friday;
  • 30, 34 and 36 Main Street on Monday through Wednesday and possibly Thursday.

Because the entrance driveway to Town Hall will be closed during this work, the exit driveway will be two-way from Tuesday through Thursday.

Meanwhile brick strip installation by A.F. Amorello & Sons, the project’s construction company, will continue during the upcoming week. Overhead utility line transfer work will continue on the west side of the project.

Eversource crews will continue performing the preliminary work associated with the transformers, which should be completed within the next month. All 12 transformers have been installed. Shifting power lines from being overhead to underground should begin in late September or early October.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
