Hopkinton High School’s unified basketball team celebrated its renewed status as a Special Olympics National Unified Champion School ahead of a game against Ashland on Tuesday.
HHS first earned its status as a National Unified Champion School in 2020. To qualify, schools must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and must meet 10 standards of excellence, including access to Special Olympics Unified Sports, inclusive youth leadership and whole-school engagement.
HHS is one of 19 schools in Massachusetts receiving recognition this school year, and one of only eight with a renewed banner status.
