Christopher M. Calcagni, 49, of Hopkinton, died Jan. 26 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife, Dr. Patti Zub, two sons, Cole and Eli Calcagni, all of Hopkinton; his parents, Priscilla (Gareau) Calcagni and John Mountzuris of Worcester; a brother, David Calcagni; two aunts, Charmaine Leary and Sister Elizabeth Calcagni S.N.D.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Joseph Zub of Florida; and three sisters-in-law, Debbi and Karen Zub, and Lea-Ann Willems. His brothers Jeffrey and Brian Calcagni predeceased him.

Christopher was born in Worcester.  He was a graduate of St. Peter-Marian High School in Worcester and Northeastern University in Boston.

Christopher was a registered pharmacist and worked many years for the Tufts Health Plan.

Chris was a brilliant, funny, generous and kind man. He will be remembered for his ability to walk into a room and put a smile on everyone’s face with his quick wit and disarming sense of humor. A devoted father to Cole and Eli, his life centered on being present and active in their lives. A dedicated pharmacist and team player, he contributed greatly in his work at Tufts Health Plan. He will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched.

A funeral was held Jan. 31 under the care of Athy Memorial Home in Worcester. Following a Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, burial followed in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
