Police: Cedar Street resident found dead inside home Thursday

by | Sep 13, 2025 | Featured: News, News, Police & Fire

A woman found deceased in her Cedar Street home Thursday apparently died by suicide, according to the town’s deputy police chief.

In an email to the Independent on Friday, Hopkinton Deputy Police Chief Scott van Raalten confirmed that a woman residing on Cedar Street appeared to have taken her own life in her home.

“Early [Thursday] evening, officers responded to Cedar Street for a possible suicide,” the deputy police chief explained. “Detectives and State Police also responded to investigate after it was determined that the female party was deceased. At this time, there is nothing to indicate that this was a suspicious death or that any foul play was involved.”

He added that no further information about the incident was available at this time.
