Overnight work on ramps at the Interstate 90/Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton continues this week.
According to a notice from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, routine construction on the I-90/I-495 interchange will commence Monday and continue through Friday.
The northbound and southbound ramps from I-495 to I-90 westbound (Exit 58) will be closed Monday night. Traffic will be directed onto I-90 eastbound and use Route 9 (Exit 111) to reverse direction back to I-90 westbound.
Starting Wednesday night, the ramp from I-495 southbound to I-90 eastbound and westbound (Exit 58) will be closed. Traffic will detour southbound to West Main Street (Exit 54A) in order to reverse direction back to I-90 westbound. Work on this ramp will conclude Friday morning.
These closures are necessary to facilitate a traffic shift along I-90 near the Whitehall Brook bridge. The second stage of bridge work will reduce the lanes on the ramps from I-495 northbound and southbound to I-90 westbound from two lanes to one through the summer of 2026.
Appropriate signage and law enforcement details will be in place. Drivers should anticipate delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones. Work begins at 11 p.m. on scheduled days and concludes at 5 a.m. the following morning.
