At the Massachusetts Science & Engineering Fair, Hopkinton High School students Sreeja Bolla and Archita Nemalikanti received a first-place award and won the Sanofi Genzyme Award, presented to the winner of the entire fair, for their project titled NeoHb: A Noninvasive Optical Biosensor Diagnosing Neonatal Anemia. The award includes an internship, a $10,000 cash prize and a $10,000 grant to the HHS Science Department.

Other HHS students receiving first-place awards were Rohan Minocha and the team of Neil Abraham, Brian Gu and Bharat Mekala.

Mantra Rajkumar had a second-place project, while the team of Kevin Gu and Simran Kaur took third place.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was not held in person. Students submitted their projects in mid-April, and results were announced May 7.
