Hopkinton Public Schools Superintendent Evan Bishop announced Wednesday morning that the high school was closed for the day due to a burst pipe. Classes were canceled.
“[E]arly this morning, we experienced a pipe burst at Hopkinton High School,” Bishop shared in an email to the school community. “While there were no injuries, the resulting water damage requires immediate cleanup and assessment to ensure the building is safe and ready for occupancy.
“As a result, Hopkinton High School will be closed for the day today to allow facilities staff and contractors the time needed to complete cleanup and restoration work. All other buildings in the district will remain open as usual.
“All exams scheduled for today will be moved. School administration and teachers will share any additional details directly with students as needed.”
The Grade 5 winter concert at the high school was rescheduled to next Wednesday, Jan. 28.
