Department of Public Works director Kerry Reed announced that crews would be out conducting annual line painting overnight this week through Friday.
The work includes center lines, crosswalks, stop bars, arrows and more. Work hours will be approximately 10 p.m.-6 a.m.
Residents are advised to slow down, stay alert and give crews in the roadway plenty of room to work safely. Drivers should avoid driving over or crossing fresh white or yellow paint, as it will transfer to their vehicles and leave marks in the road.
Pedestrians and cyclists also should exercise caution when walking or riding on newly painted crosswalks. Glass beads in the paint, which make it reflective, can be slippery when first applied, Reed explained.
