Temporary water main shutdown on Hayden Rowe Street set for Tuesday

by | Aug 17, 2026 | Featured: News, News

A portion of the water main on Hayden Rowe Street will be shut down Tuesday morning, according to the Water-Sewer Department.

Crews will shut down the water main between 103-139 Hayden Rowe Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday as part of the ongoing road reconstruction project. The shutdown is needed so that contractors can extend a hydrant lateral to the edge of the road.

According to a notice from the Water-Sewer Department, the contractor will work to restore water service to the area as quickly as possible. Water customers in the area may experience temporary water discoloration following the shutdown.

Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released.

Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.

For more information, visit the Water-Sewer Department’s website or call 508-497-9765.
