Hopkinton product Barrett Hanlon won his professional boxing debut Aug. 29 with a first-round TKO of Ratavious “Playboy” Thrasher during Boston Harbor Fight Night 2 at Encore Boston Harbor Casino in Everett.
Fighting as a light heavyweight, Hanlon recorded three knockdowns, the last via an overhand right, en route to the victory in just 1 minute, 15 seconds.
Hanlon was a basketball standout at Hopkinton High School who went on to play at Salve Regina. He later coached the Hopkinton Middle School team and now serves as an applied behavior analysis (ABA) professional in the Boston school system.
He took up boxing during the COVID-19 pandemic and fought 15 amateur bouts, including fights in the Rocky Marciano Tournament and the Golden Gloves.
