New I-90/I-495 ramp to open Saturday, overnight closures to continue

by | Sep 18, 2026 | News

According to the latest update from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, a new ramp at the Interstate 90/Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton is scheduled to open Saturday.

A new I-90 westbound ramp to I-495 northbound is set to open Saturday morning. To prepare the ramp, overnight work will be completed Friday night starting at 8 p.m. Work is scheduled to conclude at 5 a.m. on Saturday. Work will involve a single lane closure on I-90 westbound during working hours.

MassDOT also announced planned ramp closures for next week. The I-495 northbound ramp to Route 9 eastbound (Exit 59A) will be closed overnight Monday-Thursday from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. During the closure, traffic will be directed on to Route 9 westbound from I-495 northbound (Exit 59B). Drivers can then reverse direction onto I-495 southbound to access Route 9 eastbound.

Appropriate signage and law enforcement details will be in place. Drivers should anticipate delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones.

For more information on traffic conditions, drivers can visit the Mass511 website, which features travel times and real-time traffic.
