According to the Hopkinton Fire Department, there were dozens of incidents involving damage to poles, trees and wires in town cased by Wednesday evening’s storm.

While there were minimal power outages, the HFD requested residents “stay off the road if you can.”

Around 8 p.m. the department tweeted that Pond Street and West Elm were “high hazard areas with multiple issues.” Around 10 p.m. the HFD tweeted that there were more than 36 incidents with poles, trees and wires.

The Hopkinton Police Department tweeted around 7 p.m.: “We are aware of multiple trees, wires and utility complaints throughout town. If there is no immediate danger to life or a safety concern please contact Eversource to report power outages. You can contact the police non-emergency line for all other non-emergent issues.”

UPDATE, Thursday evening: The cleanup continued Thursday, with a number of roads remaining closed. Some school bus routes had to be altered or canceled, with some parents asked to drive their children to school.
