Josée Vachon has represented the Franco-American community in New England all around the world with her music. She has played her French language music in Quebec, France, Berlin and Martinique for audiences and dignitaries. She hosted a French language local access show that was syndicated to 3 million homes and has made 12 recordings in her career. Other achievements include being the recipient of the key to the city of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and a fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Vachon said she enjoys seeing people react and participate in her music. “I don’t want to just sing to people,” she said. “I want them to be involved as if it were a traditional kitchen party at home.”
