BAA announces Virtual 125th Boston Marathon to be held prior to in-person event

The Boston Athletic Association recently announced details for the Virtual 125th Boston Marathon, which will be held Oct. 8-10, prior to the in-person Boston Marathon on Oct. 11.

The virtual race is open to runners of all levels and abilities. Registration, which opens Tuesday, March 30, is available to the first 70,000 entrants ages 18 and older.

Participants will need to complete the marathon distance of 26.2 miles in one continuous attempt, although they will not be limited to any time restrictions.
