Each week, the Independent highlights an animal available for adoption at Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton. This week’s adoptable animal is 4-year-old Sherman.

Here is Baypath’s description of Sherman:

“Meet Sherman, a sweet, mellow guy who is showing just how wonderful he is in a home! His foster family describes him as a ‘gentle bean.’ He can be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe and comfortable, he’s all love, and more of his goofy side comes out every day.

“Sherman is fully house-trained, does well home alone with free rein of the house, and is good with other dogs but has also done well as a solo dog. He enjoys leisurely walks and lounging outside, but his favorite activities are belly rubs, snuggling with his people and a really good nap!

“Sherman does have an old knee injury, likely a previous CCL [cranial cruciate ligament] tear that has since healed. This can be managed with joint supplements and medication if needed.

“If you’re looking for an affectionate, low-key companion to spend your days with, Sherman may be your perfect match!”
