Business Profile: Crystal Pool & Spa a store that’s all about fun

by | Apr 8, 2020 | Business

When people imagine summer fun, they almost immediately picture children excitedly splashing around in water, be it the ocean or their backyard pool, getting great exercise and having a good time.

Those who own a pool and need accessories, service or repairs, or those who are interested in purchasing an above-ground pool can visit Crystal Pool & Spa at 95 Mechanic St. (Rte. 140) in Bellingham.

Crystal Pool & Spa was founded by Verne Brown more than 50 years ago and today remains family-owned and operated, proudly servicing families in MetroWest. The area’s largest store of its kind is housed in a 7,000-square-foot building and carries thousands of equipment items and essential supplies.

Kimberly DiChiara is the company president and Brown’s granddaughter.

“I love what I do,” DiChiara stated. “My sister and I are third generation and already my son, nephew and fiancée are working alongside us. Grandpa Verne would be really proud of how far we’ve come.”

Having grown up in the business, DiChiara knows all the ins and outs. She personally enjoys meeting as many customers as possible, listening to their requests and facilitating every need.

The company sells myriad sizes and styles of above-ground pools, and staff pride themselves on educating each customer about their newest purchase. At season’s peak, core staff typically expands to 21, including numerous trained and certified service technicians.

“Caring for your pool can be pretty straightforward, but not everyone has the time or desire to vacuum it,” DiChiara noted. “This year we’re excited to offer an all-inclusive pool maintenance package for our customers’ ease and convenience.”

The all-inclusive pool maintenance package includes pool opening, weekly vacuums, chemicals and closing at season’s end.

“Customers love our service techs,” DiChiara said. “They’re reliable, knowledgeable, friendly and just like family to us, we’ve worked together so long.”

The company also offers in-house service and repairs to a homeowner’s robotic cleaner, along with filter cleaning, salt cell cleaning and testing and rentals of robotic cleaners and submersible pumps.
