Fully licensed, registered and insured, Hurricane Roofing and Construction of Hopkinton offers quality-built roofs for its residential customers, according to manager Jonathan Creonte.
Providing quality-built roofs for local residential customers is the aim of Hurricane Roofing and Construction.
“We’re a Hopkinton company that does 95% of our work in town,” said manager Jonathan Creonte. “We don’t hire any subcontractors. We do all the work ourselves, building the roof our client has paid for. We are proud of our work and stand behind it with a 10-year warranty on labor. If you have a problem with your roof, I’ll be there to see what can be done.”
Established in 2000, Hurricane Roofing can install almost any type of roof — asphalt, cedar, rubber or metal. “There has never been a roof that we haven’t been able to handle, even the more complex contemporary roofs,” said Creonte.
A Massachusetts native who earned a bachelor’s in science from Assumption College, Creonte said, “All the guys who work for Hurricane know their stuff. Their level of craftsmanship provides a solid product for our customers. One guy has been with us for 17 years, another for 15 and so on. I know exactly the quality of their work and the quality that will be put on your roof.”
A sign of that craftsmanship is the work the company does on vintage homes in Hopkinton.
“Hurricane Roofing specializes in old-time, New England cedar roofs,” said Creonte. “Not many roofers have that skill, but we do, and our roofers do an incredibly good job.”
The company also owns all its own trucks to collect the debris from a stripped roof and haul it away.
“Customers don’t often realize that over 3,000 pounds of debris comes off the average roof, and another 3,000 pounds go on it,” Creonte said. “It is a labor-intensive process, and we handle it all.”
Hurricane drapes tarps from the eaves to protect all landscaping and uses magnetic rollers to pick up as many nails as possible.
“I’m a homeowner, so I know what homeowners want from a job,” he said.
Creonte visits all new customers to discuss the scope of work and budget for a project before providing a detailed, free estimate.
“I enjoy meeting customers so we can get to know one another,” said Creonte. “I am the on-site manager for our projects. Since I’m at every Hurricane job, I make sure the roof is done as I said it would be. I’m a local guy, a worker, not a salesman.”
Hurricane Roofing is very involved in Hopkinton, sponsoring a Little League team since 2010 and supporting other organizations.
“We also try to use local businesses as our suppliers,” said Creonte, who noted the company is glad to be part of the community.
“When Hurricane does a job, I feel like it is our roof,” he said. “When you become a customer, I want you to be a customer for life. I work to make sure you get the value we promised.”
