Carly Jean Sturtevant Casten

Carly Jean Sturtevant Casten, 34, of Hopkinton, lost her battle with the disease of addiction on Dec. 1.

Carly was kind and loving, with a smile that sparked a conversation, lit up a room and warmed a heart. She was inquisitive, playful and was happiest with her children. They enjoyed fishing, catching butterflies and frogs, carving pumpkins and picking apples. She loved books and kept journals throughout her life, with pages full of emotion, poetry and sketches of nature, magical unicorns and protective angels.

Addiction took Carly in and suffocated every dream and aspiration she ever had. She will be met with outstretched arms in heaven and will forever be among the people that made us happy. Let us be grateful for them, for they are the gardeners that make our souls blossom.

She was the beloved mother of Nicholas, Lucas and Jordan; daughter of Christina Casten; sister of Leslie Sturtevant; niece of Faris, Peter, Greg and Kim Casten of Westborough, and Caroline and Francis Dee of Sudbury; cousin of Hannah and Sophia Dee and Allison and Laura Casten. She was loved by her family and all those whose paths she crossed.

Funeral services were held privately with family and were under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton.
