Construction on Wood Street drainage to begin Monday

by | Jun 25, 2025 | News

The town is set to begin work on Wood Street next week that will impact drivers and residents.

Starting Monday, contractors will begin work on improvements on drainage systems on Wood Street. The impacted area extends from the intersection of Wood Street and Walker Street and continues east of the Department of Public Works facility at 83 Wood Street.

The work is anticipated to take a month to complete, according to a notice sent to residents on Wednesday.

Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and may necessitate an alternating one-way traffic pattern.

“Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time through the work area,” the statement from the town reads. “Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible.”

All work is weather permitting.
