Director of Public Works Kerry Reed announced that crews were responding to a water main break near Wild Road and Chestnut Street on Monday afternoon.
“Nearby areas should expect water disruption,” Reed stated in a notice to residents. “Some areas may notice some discoloration.”
Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released.
Discolored water is safe to drink, the statement notes, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.
