Crews work to resolve water discoloration issues in town

by | May 12, 2023 | News

The town’s Water Department announced Friday morning that multiple crews are out in the Springwood development flushing hydrants to alleviate an issue with water discoloration.

Wrote Water Department Manager Eric Carty: “Please wait until later in the afternoon before trying to flush your internal lines. Crews will leave select hydrants running overnight and will be back again in the morning to flush and check hydrants again. Please be advised that although unsightly, the water is safe to use as it is discolored from the minerals being dislodged from the pipe due to the heavy use this week with warmer temperatures.”

For more information, visit the Water Department page at the town’s website.
