A North Billerica man arrested Tuesday night on 13 charges, including cocaine trafficking and malicious destruction of property, was arraigned Wednesday in Framingham District Court. He is being held pending a dangerousness hearing on Monday, according to a Middlesex District Attorney’s Office spokesperson.

Christopher M. Saunders Jr., 30, of North Billerica, was booked Wednesday after the allegedly stolen white BMW he was driving crashed into a fence along Loop Road. Saunders was captured and detained by the Hopkinton Police Department after fleeing the accident scene on foot.

“He was arraigned yesterday in Framingham District Court and is being held pending a 58a dangerousness hearing on Monday,” stated Sarah Lamson, communications manager at the DA’s Office.

A 58a dangerousness hearing is held in a case where “conditions of a felony offense” may involve “the use, attempted use or threatened use of physical force against the person of another may result, including the crimes of burglary and arson,” according to the state website.

Saunders was located in the garage of a house under construction on Myrtle Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident, according to police. Saunders was transported to the police station for booking.

During their investigation, police searched the BMW and reported finding a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine in a duffel bag. They also indicated that they discovered drug paraphernalia, including multiple small plastic bags and a digital scale, as well as what appeared to be a list of contacts.

Police also reported locating a damaged GPS ankle monitor in the wooded area near the EMC Park entrance and Marathon School.
