The Hopkinton High School boys outdoor track team finished second at the state Division 2 meet over the weekend in North Andover. The Hillers had 79 points, behind first-place North Andover (124) and ahead of third-place Wellesley (51).
Sean Golembiewski led the way for Hopkinton, winning the 110-meter hurdles and the 400 hurdles.
The Hillers had three of the top six finishers in the 400 hurdles, as Will Bialobrzeski was third and Drew Bialobrzeski was sixth. And in the 110 hurdles, Will Bialobrzeski took seventh and Paul Litscher was next in eighth.
Also for HHS, Kavin Prasanna grabbed fourth in the shot put and sixth in the discus; Russell Perryman took fifth and Will Bialobrzeski seventh in the javelin; Luke Boothroyd was fourth and Ruben Noroian eighth in the 400; the 4×400 relay team of Sam Dadagian, Litscher, Boothroyd and Noroian was third; Tommy Engel-Chatten was second, Seamus Murphy sixth and Logan Sullivan 11th in the high jump; Declan Mick took fourth, Andrew Budden fifth and Matthew Bernardin eighth in the pentathlon; Budden and Mick tied for 10th in the pole vault; the 4×100 relay team of Murphy, James MacCarthy, Eric Touzjian and Dadagian finished 10th; and Mason Barros was 11th in the triple jump.
On the girls side, the Hillers finished 13th.
Josie Hopkins took fourth in the pentathlon; Elyse Srodawa and Autumn Tumbleton finished fifth and sixth in the 2 mile; Shelby Jones was seventh and Kiley Locke 11th in the 400 hurdles; Loryn Canty took sixth in the 100 and ninth in the shot put; the 4×100 relay team of Carmen Thomas, Savannah Rivera, Brooke Birtwistle and Canty finished sixth; Elena Davies grabbed eighth in the javelin; and the 4×400 relay team of Jones, Ava Carboni, Malia Grant and Aubrey Thomas took 11th.
13th for girl’s track? Clearly something has changed with the program which was a perennial powerhouse when we lived in the town from 1992-2016
