Sports Roundup: Honors for HHS coach, athletes

HHS golf coach Dick Bliss was recently named MIAA Coach of the Year. Bliss guided the Hillers to their second straight Division 2 state championship in the fall.

Bliss, who golfed collegiately at the University of Houston in the late 1960s, has coached HHS golf for 39 years. He also coached the boys basketball team for 15 years and the girls team for 13 seasons, until 2008, when he retired from basketball coaching with more than 300 wins combined between the programs. …

HHS senior lacrosse player Andrew Palleiko was selected as the Section 1 male winner of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Student Athlete Scholarship.
