Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.
Tall & Small Ball returns to Marathon School Oct. 26
The Hopkinton Parent Teacher Organization will host the Tall & Small Pumpkin Ball, continuing a years-long tradition for young Hopkinton students.
“The town has been doing [the ball] for a very long time,” said Sarah Navin, HPTO co-president.
The event, which formerly was known as the Pumpkin Prom, will take place at the Marathon School gym and cafetorium on Oct. 26. It is a ticketed event, and children age 4 through sixth grade are invited to attend.
Navin described the ball as “kind of like a prom” for younger kids. The evening is split into three sessions for different age levels with separate times for younger and older children. Guardians can accompany their kids, and all are encouraged to dress up. All sessions will feature a DJ, refreshments and other activities.
Dana Passante, HPTO’s other co-president, added that there will be a glow store available where kids can purchase glow sticks and glow wands.
“It’s such a cute event, it really is,” said Navin. “Adults get dressed up, kids get dressed up [and] get to have a night together with their friends.”
