Residents looking for something fun to do when the weather warms up will get the first chance to sign up for Parks & Recreation summer programs today.
On Tuesday, the Parks & Rec Department announced that registration for its summer programs would open today at 10 a.m. The department is offering a wide range of programs for kids and adults alike, ranging from summer sports to STEM camps.
“We’re excited to offer a wide variety of programs, including our staple programs,” said Parks & Rec Director Jon Lewitus.
According to Lewitus, Skyhawks Sports will be back to run a number of sports activities. Hopkinton school district staff will be leading basketball and football programs as well.
In regard to new offerings, Lewitus highlighted that the boat dock for Sandy Beach would be installed this summer. “Season passes for that will open up in April,” he said.
He also noted that there will be plenty of open play and lessons available for tennis and pickleball at the new facilities on Pratt Way, which finally opened last May.
While a lot of programs are set to open up for registration today, more are forthcoming. Lewitus encouraged residents to check back in closer to the start of the season as other programs become available.
To register for programs, residents can check out the program list on the Parks & Rec Department website. Those who need financial assistance are encouraged to call the department at 508-497-9750. Check Parks & Rec’s information page for more on its financial aid policy and its cancellation and refund policy.
