Hopkinton Today: Friday, Aug. 18

by | Aug 18, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The annual Senior Center Ice Cream Social was held Wednesday, and we have photos from the event.

Leading off the Sports Roundup, Hopkinton’s Tiffany Mikulis was named a 2023 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association second-team All-American following her stellar season as a sophomore midfielder at Haverford College in Pennsylvania.

This week’s Baypath Adoptable Animal is 5-year-old Milo, who “loves going for walks, playing with toys and even taking a dip in his kiddie pool on hot summer days.” Baypath is waiving adoption fees for adult dogs 50 pounds and heavier for the month of August.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ Enter Stage Left Theater will host a performance of “Orphan Play” this Sunday at 2 p.m. The play, written by ESL alumnus Maggie MacDonald as her senior thesis project at Dartmouth College, follows a playwright as she tries to write an autobiographical play.

Photo of the Day: At the Town Common last weekend, Ashley Fogg signs a petition seeking to discontinue the political party caucus system for town elections. The drive is being organized by Ed Harrow (right) and John Cardillo.
