Hopkinton Today: Friday, Dec. 15

by | Dec 15, 2023 | Featured: Features,

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Hopkinton Fire Department’s latest safety initiative, called Sand & Socks for Seniors, has a simple goal, according to Fire Prevention Officer Tom Poirier: “Try not to slip in the house, and try not to slip outside.” That leads off this week’s Independent Thoughts, which also includes information on the 102nd birthday plans for Russ Phipps.

The Trails Committee at its meeting Wednesday night prioritized maintenance of the Berry Acres Trail due to the recent rains that caused flooding and debris to accumulate.

The Tri-Valley League recently announced its All-Stars for the fall season, and Hopkinton High School had a large number of MVPs and All-Stars.

This week’s Baypath Adoptable Animal is 1-year-old Diana, who is “bursting with energy and love to share.”

Photo of the Day: Chuck Joseph gives a presentation on recent Hopkinton history at the Hopkinton High School auditorium on Wednesday.
