Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Zoning Advisory Committee on Wednesday continued to make progress in its proposed alteration of the town’s tree-cutting bylaw, adjusting the wording in an attempt to tighten up the restrictions primarily aimed at limiting commercial ground-mounted solar developments.
According to Water and Sewer Department manager Eric Carty, DPW personnel quickly repaired a water main break on Eastview Road just before noon on Thursday, shortly before the latest storm hit town. Carty cautioned that residents might see some air or discoloration in their water. The DPW then fixed another leak later in the day.
Senior Aidan Walsh had two goals and an assist, and classmate Geoff Tocco added a goal and two assists, but it wasn’t enough for the Hopkinton High School boys hockey team, which dropped Thursday morning’s season finale, 7-4 to host Medfield.
