Ruth Richman

Ruth Mason Richman, late of Brookline, passed away Feb. 15 after a short illness at her home in Deerfield Beach, Florida, with her beloved husband, Marty, at her side. Ruth was the loving stepmother of Joshua Richman and his wife, Kelly, of Larkspur, California, and of Jeffrey Richman and his wife, Mila, of Hoboken, New Jersey, and the adored grandmother to Arielle Richman of Larkspur, California.

Ruth leaves her loving brother, Philip Mason and his wife, Jacqueline Horwitz, of Hopkinton. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, the late Sylvia and Manuel Mason of Pittsburgh. Ruth was the beloved aunt to Michelle Rubenstein and her husband, Isaac, of Framingham, Rachel Mason and her partner, Sharón Friedner, of Greenfield, Daniel Lampke and his fiancée, Amanda Magier, of Boston, and Rachel Lampke and her husband, David Hock, of Vancouver. She was the loving great aunt to Jesse Rubenstein. Ruth is also survived by her dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy and Jim Lampke of Hull.

Born Jan. 29, 1952, Ruth grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Syracuse University and Purdue University. She worked for many years as a speech pathologist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and took great pride in helping her patients. She enjoyed current events and day trips in New England and Florida. Ruth made friends easily and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She especially enjoyed playing mahjong and canasta.

Burial will be in Deerfield Beach, with arrangements by Eden Funeral Services of Pompano Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer or The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
