Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Country Farm had a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday, after the store (located on Cedar Street next to the Post Office) transitioned to a liquor store/market. Attending the ribbon cutting were (from left) Chamber of Commerce president Cristina Morrissiey, owners Raj Patel, Neel Patel and Makesh Patel, and Chamber of Commerce representatives Ron Foisy and Amanda Faucher.
Hopkinton resident Joe Gammal, a corporate trainer, has started a program for students in Grades 8-12 to learn about problem solving and collaborative innovating. As part of the Imagine Corps program, students will work with local nonprofits.
There are 27 Hopkinton streets slated to have crack sealing work done on them this month. The work will start Monday and take about two weeks.
Video of the Day: Hopkinton’s Tim Simoes just joined a summer baseball team in North Dakota, where he’ll play for a couple of weeks before returning east for his senior year at West Point. Simoes made quite an impression in his debut for the Bismarck Larks last night, slugging a grand slam in his first at-bat and helping his team beat the Bismarck Bull Moose.
Music Video of the Day: Here’s Madcon with their 2007 remake of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ “Beggin’.” Enjoy.
