Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Water-Sewer manager Eric Carty notes that with temperatures rapidly rising, groundwater levels rapidly declining and no rain in sight, water demands have skyrocketed and it is putting a strain on the town’s water supply. Lawn watering is only allowed twice per week by precinct and not at all on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
The Timlin 5K is tomorrow, and registration remains open. Participants must cover 3.1 miles on their own at some point before 5 p.m.
Against the Tide also is Saturday, and if you miss this one there are three other virtual events this season as part of the series.
Picture of the Day: The town sponsored a COVID-19 mobile testing clinic outside of Hopkinton Middle School on Thursday, and a steady stream of people poured in to be checked.
Music Video of the Day: I was talking about the story behind the title of this song with my kids yesterday, so it’s on my mind. Here’s R.E.M. with “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” Enjoy.
