Hopkinton Today: Friday, June 3

by | Jun 3, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The recent spike in COVID cases has shown no letup. In fact, it continues to get worse. The good news is the illnesses have not been as severe. The bad news is the absences caused by COVID have put a major strain on town services — especially the schools.

The latest edition of Tales from a Townie features a stroll up Main Street, circa 1950, through the eyes of a 10-year-old.

As part of the town’s Pavement Management Plan, roadwork on a handful of streets is tentatively scheduled to begin sometime after July 4, the town’s Department of Public Works announced Thursday.

This week’s Baypath Adoptable Animal is Harper, a 4-year-old female dog who “loves her toys, dog friends and treats.”

The next monthly trail volunteer day is this Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. Volunteers will meet at Cobblers Way, which is off Front Street, and clean out a cellar hole along the trail in Peloquin Woods.
