Hopkinton Today: Friday, May 20

by | May 20, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Following issues establishing and maintaining a quorum at this month’s Annual Town Meeting, there has been some chatter that perhaps it’s time to switch to representative Town Meeting, where each precinct elects a limited number of residents who then are the only ones who vote. That topic leads off this week’s Independent Thoughts, which also includes items on recent events from the Hopkinton Garden Club, the Knights of Columbus and the RE/MAX Executive Realty Charitable Foundation.

The town is conducting a survey of residents’ thoughts about Annual Town Meeting, focused on the lack of participation from voters.

This week’s Baypath Adoptable Animal is Leia, a quiet girl who is crate-trained and house-trained and likes to keep her space neat.

Our latest Business Profile highlights La Cantina Italiana, a family-run business in Framingham whose motto is “Food is memories.”
