Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The School Committee discussed a number of issues at its hybrid meeting Thursday night, including rising enrollment figures for the upcoming year and the importance of growing the Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) to help address the issues faced by parents of students with disabilities.
The Hopkinton-based 26.2 Foundation extended its deadline to July 25 for those interested in joining its 2021 Boston Marathon team, called Team Inspire. Participants who commit to raising money for the organization will have access to training and fundraising support, local weekly training runs, race weekend festivities, and race day hosting in Hopkinton.
Town meetings tonight include the Hopkinton Cultural Council (6) and Planning Board (7). The Select Board will join the Planning Board to choose an individual to fill the vacant seat on the Planning Board.
Photo of the Day: Hopkinton has had a wild few days of weather, with last week’s mid-week storm followed by heavy rains that caused flooding issues across town. On Friday, emergency crews shut down a portion of Grove Street to deal with a downed wire.
