Hopkinton Today: Monday, July 25

by | Jul 25, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The School Committee on Thursday approved the language for a Special Town Meeting warrant article asking for an additional $850,000 for the Marathon School addition project. The money for the project could be taken out of the department’s Legacy Farms Fund allocation and thus would not affect taxpayers.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, the contractor will perform saw cuts for duct banks, and this work might require detours in the area of the Route 135/Route 85 intersection.

The town’s Water-Sewer Department announced Friday that “due to the continued drought conditions, dramatic increase in water use, low tank levels and a continued forecast for hot and dry weather, the town is declaring an outdoor water ban on municipal water use.”

Town meetings tonight include the Zoning Advisory Committee (7).
