Hopkinton Today: Monday, June 29

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.

It’s Election Day. If you have not voted by mail, stop by Hopkinton Middle School between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. to make your voice heard. There are two contested races: Select Board and School Committee.

The town’s latest COVID-19 update, which came out Saturday, has information on a variety of resources, including the new MassSupport crisis counseling program to support the behavioral health needs of Massachusetts residents during the pandemic.

The Hopkinton Polyarts Festival, held each September on the Town Common, has been canceled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hopkintonians have shown support for former longtime resident Sandy Altamura, who is scheduled to receive a liver transplant from her daughter in August.

Photo of the Day: Hopkinton Organizing for Prevention (HOP) had a good turnout for its drive-in movie night on Friday in the parking lot at Hopkinton Middle School.

Video of the Day: From Russia, traffic is stopped on a busy road to help a duck family cross on their way to a pond.
