The Select Board decided in an executive session meeting last Wednesday to suspend its investigation into the conduct of Hopkinton Police Chief Joseph Bennett until an ongoing investigation by the Northwestern County District Attorney’s Office is completed.
During a first review of the school district’s weapons policy at Thursday’s School Committee meeting, Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh spoke about the necessity to include a section on “religious artifacts that resemble weapons.” She said that students baptized Sikhs wear a kirpan — a 3-inch long, curved, dull blade — under their clothing.

The Hopkinton Parks & Recreation Department’s free Skateboard/BMX Jam at the Hopkinton Middle School outdoor basketball courts was rescheduled due to rain from March 10 to Sunday, March 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Hopkinton Lions Cub and the Ashland Lions Club are co-sponsoring Lions Musical Bingo on Friday, March 15, at the Ashland VFW. All proceeds support local charities and eye research.
