Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Hopkinton’s Sean Farrell agreed to a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens and will join the NHL team on its upcoming road trip to Buffalo and Philadelphia, the team announced Sunday.

Two finalists for the principal’s job at Elmwood School met with faculty, community members and the School Committee on Thursday to answer questions during several forums. Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh said the replacement for retiring principal Anne Carver will be named this week.

The Parks & Recreation Commission at its hybrid meeting Thursday evening discussed concerns about traffic safety once Pyne Field is reconfigured, pending a $1 million funding request that will be voted upon at Annual Town Meeting on May 1.

A Hopkinton man faces charges after the Westborough Police Department responded to an alleged break-in at the former Regal Cinemas off Route 9.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, crews are scheduled to begin paving work Wednesday in preparation for the Boston Marathon. The work will take place on the east side of the project only — from Grove Street to Ray Street. The eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street will be used on Wednesday and Thursday.

Town meetings tonight include the Appropriation Committee with the School Committee (6), Sustainable Green Committee Outreach Working Group (7) and Trustees of the School Fund (7:30).
