Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Annual Town Election is today, with polls open at Hopkinton Middle School from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. In the only contested race, voters will elect two individuals to fill the open spots on the Select Board. There also are eight ballot questions, with voters to make a final decision on the Hopkins School addition/renovation project along with some other less expensive requests.

The School Committee on Thursday talked about member Adam Munroe’s frequent absences and heard a report on disproportionality in special education.

The Department of Public Works announced that road paving is scheduled for this week, starting with a section of Pond Street Monday and Tuesday.

Our latest Business Profile highlights Enjoy Homes, which focuses on brick and stone patios, wooden or composite decks and more.

Photo of the Day: Attendees at the Reading Frederick Douglass Together event discuss the legendary 19th century orator’s thoughts on slavery and democracy. The event, held Saturday afternoon at the Town Common, was organized by the Hopkinton Historical Society and Hopkinton Freedom Team.
