Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The 2023 Boston Marathon will be a “first-ever marathon, period” for Diane Mimmo, who is running to support the MetroWest YMCA.

The latest Tales from a Townie recounts a Boy Scouts sledding activity that served a dual purpose.

This week’s Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of an eviction issue in Pinecrest Village, a donation scam and a stolen puppy.

Registration is open for the 20th annual Sharon Timlin Memorial Event, which will be held at Hopkinton High School on June 17. The 5K road race and family fun day is a fundraiser for The Angel Fund for ALS Research.

The next monthly Veterans Breakfast is this Friday at the Hopkinton Senior Center. An anonymous donor will absorb the cost of the meal.

Town meetings tonight include the Open Space Preservation Commission (7:15).

Photo of the Day: Workers lay sod next to the Doughboy statue on a recent day in preparation for the April 17 Boston Marathon.
