Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Conservation Commission at its meeting Tuesday night continued two hearings involving Department of Public Works plans for drainage improvements on Wood Street and sidewalk installation at the Chestnut Street right of way.

The Hopkinton Department of Public Works announced that crack sealing work was scheduled to begin Wednesday on numerous streets in town.

This week’s Police Log includes two arrests along with reports of a fox bite, a fired employee making threats, and a youth throwing a rock through a vehicle’s windshield.

Hopkinton Family Day, a community event featuring live entertainment, games, activities and food trucks, and topped off with a fireworks display, is set to return Sept. 14 on the field behind Hopkinton Middle School.

Town meetings tonight include the Open Space Preservation Commission (7).
