Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Organizers of the Sharon Timlin Memorial Event, normally held outside Hopkinton High School, are planning for a virtual event again this June due to the ongoing pandemic. The event annually draws thousands of people for the 5K road race, color run and family fun day activities. Online registration is due to go live this week.
Hopkinton High School junior Brian Gu earned 10 awards in the 2021 Scholastic Writing statewide competition, including a prestigious nomination for the American Voices award. This nomination is given to the top five writing submissions in Massachusetts and makes him eligible for the American Voices Award, the top award a student can earn for writing in the program.
This week’s Police Log includes reports of a man rifling through cars on West Main Street, a dog biting a sledder, a driver crashing a car into a garage, and a town truck being driven aggressively in Boston.
The latest edition of Senior Snippets highlights programs on healthy shopping, indoor gardens, jigsaw puzzles and more.
Town meetings tonight include Appropriation Committee (6), Community Preservation Committee (7), School Committee (7) and Board of Library Trustees (7).
